South Carolina High School Athletic Directors, when becoming a member of the SCAAA will automatically be enrolled as a member of the NIAAA when they pay dues. We are a Dual Membership State. Currently this fee is $120.00. If you have any questions concerning Dual Membership, email Jerry Linn at Membership is for one year. Our year begins and ends at our spring conference in March. The form below is out of date and will be changed before the Spring Conference in March 2018.

Principals, District AD’s, Assistant AD’s and Middle School AD’s may join the Dual membership but are not required to do so.  However, they are encouraged to join as an Associate Member with the SCAAA. That annual Fee is  $40.00. SCAAA membership runs the same time frame as the dual membership – March to March.

Membership expire annually in March regardless of when obtained.

As a SCAAA Member or Associate SCAAA Member

  • $20,000 Accidental Death Insurance for each member.
    This coverage includes school and non-school related deaths.
  • A representative on the SC High School League Executive Committee
  • Teaches accredited Leadership Training Courses from the NIAAA
  • Offers new principals and athletic directors a basic Leadership Training Course at no charge
  • Publishes a quarterly online newsletter
  • Has a Mentor program for new Athletic Directors
  • Coordinates and facilitates the Spring Conference for Athletics
  • Recognizes outstanding retired Athletic Administrators at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet

NIAAA Membership

If you are involved in administering interscholastic athletics at either the high school, middle school or junior high level, you should join the National Interscholastic athletic Administrators Association. The NIAAA is a national professional organization administered by and for athletic administrators for the purpose of:

  • Promoting the professional growth and image of interscholastic athletic administrators
  • Promoting the development and prestige of state athletic administrators organizations which will contribute, in cooperation with state high school associations, to the interscholastic athletic program of each state
  • Providing an efficient system for the exchange of ideas between the National Federation of State High School Associations and state athletic directors organizations and individual athletic administrators
  • Preserving the educational nature of interscholastic athletics and the place of these programs in the curricula of schools

Membership Categories

  • Regular NIAAA ($80), Dual NIAAA/SCAAA ($120.00) – anyone employed by a school or school district or state association who has among their duties the administration of interscholastic athletics
  • Retired NIAAA only ($30), SCAAA does not have a retired fee – any person retired from active athletic administration and who has been a regular member of the NIAAA. Retired members do not receive the liability insurance benefit
  • Lifetime NIAAA only, Regular ($800) – available to anyone who qualifies as a regular member
  • Lifetime NIAAA only, Retired ($300) – available to anyone who qualifies as a retired member
  • Associate ($80) – anyone who is involved in athletic administration or school administration at any level or anyone who is a student or instructor in athletic administration
  • Student ($15) – any degree seeking person enrolled in college undergraduate classes associated with education or athletic administration, management or marketing. Student members receive all benefits afforded a regular member except insurance benefits and holding office
