SCAAA DIRECTORS CUP

 

 Purpose:   

 

To recognize those athletic departments in all classifications which have excelled and  shown superior performance

 
Award:   

Beginning with the 2001-2002 school year, the SCAAA will present this award annually.  Award  winning schools will receive a Directors Cup Trophy and a Wall Banner .

 
Sports:   Presently twenty activities (sports) will count in the standings each year.  They are:

Points: 

Only the positions earned at the South Carolina High School League State Championships shall be used to determine points in the Directors Cup standings.   

If a tie exists for a final ranking position, the total number of points earned by those schools involved in the tie shall be divided equally among all the schools in the tie.   

If classifications are combined for a State Championship, the school’s order of finish in that particular sport will be used to earn points.

 100 points
State Runner-Up   80 points
   3rd - 4th Place   60 points
   5th - 8th Place    40 points
   9th - 16th Place     20 points
  17th - 32nd Place 10 points

Publication of Standings:

 

Standings for the SCAAA Directors Cup will be published at this WEB site and updated periodically.  The standings will also be given to state newspapers three times each school year and will be subject to any necessary corrections.
